OVERVIEW
Million Gallons was formed by chef Eric Korn to bring the restaurant industry together to help feed those in need. The goal is to create a million gallons of soup to be distributed among the public.
With this grand initiative came a series of challenges. One of these challenges was to find vendors who could operate under unreasonable timelines, and in this case, one that could provide refrigerated shipping and storage to support their distribution needs. That’s where Capital Logistics came into the picture.
APPROACH
Capital Logistics recognized the importance of this cause and began working as soon as contacted, to find an urgent solution to assist the Million Gallons initiative. We immediately worked on finding a local vendor and was able to provide a refrigerated storage solution in only a few hours.
As this was a unique case, and for a charitable cause, we did our best to go above and beyond. We worked directly with a regional family-owned business, CONRI Services, Inc. who made significant price concessions, given the circumstances and the nature of need on the part of Million Gallons. Other vendors were brought to bare to assist in necessary distribution infrastructure, with significant support from Capital Logistics.
“This was a big undertaking, and needed to happen rapidly, everyone came together and rose to the challenge. Capital Logistics was instrumental in finding the best fit for our needs. Their generosity is only matched or exceeded by their expertise and ability to react rapidly.”

RESULTS
Capital Logistics was able to find the right vendor to help this initiate achieve their intentions and follow their vision in a timely manner. In an effort to support the charity further, a charitable donation was also made, that will likely end up covering the remaining expense for cold storage needs for Million Gallons.
